Fraktured Phoenix is the Arizona chapter of Fraktured Nation, a crew founded in Seattle in 2016 that now has chapters in Seattle, Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami and Portland, with family scattered across the globe. The Phoenix chapter came on in 2017, co-founded by Excell, DavzNotHere, Zaptek and Bacteria (RIP), and has been feeding the Valley's dance floors ever since.
The early years ran through club shows and streaming: regular sessions on Facebook, then Twitch as it became the DJ platform. In 2021 we started a monthly in Tempe, and soon after, Brook B stepped in as crew lead alongside co-leads Zaptek and Dirty Mind Tricks. Monthly club residencies in Mesa followed, and then the move that defined us: into the warehouses. That's where we found our groove, and it's where you'll usually find us now — real rooms, real rigs, lights and lasers at 4am.
Over the years we've put names like Stanton Warriors, The Freestylers, Curtis B, Simply Jeff, Keith MacKenzie, Exzakt, Huda Hudia, Deekline and Deejay Shaolin on Phoenix stages, alongside the Fraktured Nation family and a local roster we'll put up against any city's. We've collaborated with crews like Walter's, Rough Touch Productions, Frequency Rebels, Word of Mouth Collective, Fairytale Productions, Soulective Collective and Sound Life, and worked out-of-state runs like Road To Crystal Mountain.
We're Home of the Broken Beat: breaks and drum & bass are the backbone, UKG close behind. But there's great music in every genre and we don't discriminate — a Fraktured night will run dubstep, techno, house, trance, psytrance and hardcore across its stages. Brook grew up going to raves in the late 90s, and the crew builds for that same feeling: the belonging, the PLUR, being in the warehouse at 4 in the morning with the music pumping and everything right in the moment. 10 documented events and 1,020 photos later (see for yourself), with 13 resident DJs carrying the sound, that's still the whole point.
