EDM Events in Phoenix: Clubs, Warehouses & Festivals

By Brook B, resident DJ & crew lead, Fraktured Phoenix

Phoenix has EDM events every weekend of the year, but they live on different calendars depending on what kind of night you want. The touring headliners play the big downtown rooms, the club circuit runs through Phoenix and Tempe, and the underground warehouse parties barely post publicly at all. Here is how the whole Valley fits together, and where to look for each.

The big rooms: touring headliners

When a major electronic act routes through Arizona, the address is very often The Van Buren, the 1,800-cap downtown hall that carries more EDM bookings than almost any room in the state. Casino stages like Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale pick up the crossover names. These are ticketed, all-production shows: box office, barricade, set times.

Club nights: Phoenix and Tempe

The weekly heartbeat of the scene is the club circuit. Sunbar in Tempe runs the busiest bass calendar in the East Valley, house to dubstep to drum and bass. Downtown, Walter Studios and Walter Where?House book everything from deep house to big warehouse-scale productions, Crescent Ballroom mixes electronic nights into its live calendar, and Central Records flips from record shop to listening-bar dance floor on show nights.

The underground: warehouse parties

This is where Fraktured lives. Underground events run in warehouses and DIY spaces around the Valley, the lineups lean local and deep (breaks, drum and bass, bass music), and the address usually goes out to ticket holders a few hours before doors. None of it shows up on the big apps, so the move is to get on crew lists: join ours and read how to find underground raves in Phoenix for the rest.

After-hours

Arizona bars stop pouring at 2am, but the music does not have to. Rooms like the Fillmore Warehouse and The Alchemist's Enclave run late-night bass programming well past last call. The full picture is in our Phoenix afters guide.

Festival season

The desert sets the schedule. Summer pushes everything indoors, and the outdoor season runs October through May: the big Halloween weekenders land at open-air sites like Rawhide in Chandler and WestWorld in Scottsdale, and New Year's brings the biggest crowds of the year. We keep seasonal guides for Halloween and New Year's Eve.

What's on this weekend

Our Phoenix events calendar lists Fraktured's own nights at the top and the rest of the Valley's EDM and bass shows underneath, refreshed twice a week, so you can see the whole weekend in one place. Every venue above has its own page with what's coming up there. Not sure which sound you are after? Start with the rave genres guide.
